Since its very beginnings, WOW has supported the valuable work of animal shelters and has been doing the same for the 'Streunerparadies' association for years now. This 'Stray Dog Paradise,' as it translates to in English, is one of many organisations working to rescue and home poor doggy souls.Our ongoing food donations are our small contribution towards the better life of the many dogs waiting for their 'forever home'. STREUNERPARADIES
MORE THAN AN ANIMAL SHELTER

Located on the Austrian-Hungarian border in Lafnitz Valley, Styria, Streunerparadies (the 'Stray Dog Paradise' association) has been taking care of neglected, abused and sick street dogs since 2013. Helmut and Brigitte Hirmann have been passionately running the Szentgotthàrd public animal shelter as part of 'Streunerparadies' since 2017, where they take in rescued dogs, rehabilitate them if necessary and place them in their 'forever homes'. Together with their employees and many volunteers, they look after between 120 and 170 dogs that live in their species-appropriate facility on an ongoing basis. But that's not all: they are also committed to providing help on the ground.With neutering campaigns, food donations and educational work, they help to actively improve the lives of strays.

Rescuing and re-socialising traumatised dogs is particularly important to the Streunerparadies team. Doing so gives them the chance of a better life in a loving home. With many touching stories and happy endings, it's clear that these tireless efforts are worthwhile. This is these animal lovers’ way of making the journey to finding a new addition to the family particularly seamless.

The professional work of Streunerparadies and the ethical care of dogs in shelters costs money. The organisation relies on voluntary work and donations. WOW has been a partner of Streunerparadies for many years and supports the work of Helmut and Gitti Hirmann with food donations. Our support goes straight to the dogs – both at the animal shelter and at local animal welfare organisations that Streunerparadies regularly provides food to.
